Successful Israel-Virginia Defense Contractors Teaming Event

At the invitation of Governor Ralph Northam, The Virginia Israel Advisory Board conducted a teaming event between thirty Israeli and Virginia defense manufacturers to explore developing Virginia-based manufacturing and R&D partnerships. Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin also participated.
Senior officials from the Israel Ministry of Defense; Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce and Trade Brian Ball attended the event where the Presidents of the manufacturers associations of Israel and Virginia signed an MOU to enable their collective 9000 member companies to develop manufacturing and R&D partnerships in Virginia.
The Virginia Israel Advisory Board organized the event as part of on-going program of exchanges between Israeli and Virginia defense manufacturers which includes an online teaming platform on the Virginia Israel Advisory Board’s web site where Virginia and Israeli companies can input their business interests and search for partners.
There will be a three-day follow-up event related to naval and maritime technologies with the Israeli Ministry of Defense in the Hampton Roads region this October.
Expert presenters at the event included: Williams Mullen Law Firm – Federal Contracting team; Bakertilly – government contractor advisory practice; GENEDGE Virginia’s public resource for manufacturers; Locklheed Martin. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership participated and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority who hosted the event.
